Maine is, mile-for-mile, one of the most difficult states on the Appalachian Trail. This section has traditionally been a crux for FKT’ers doing the full AT. The section contains over 280 miles and 63,000 feet on some of the most rugged trails in North America.

Description

Run/hike from the Finish Line of the New York City Marathon in Central Park to Finish Line of the Boston Marathon on Boylston Street in Boston. You are free to create your own route, or even complete this route in reverse (going from Boston to New York City).

Please plan your route well to avoid heavy traffic on roads and check the weather forecast. It is likely that running in dark will require a strong headlight, there will be a need for different clothing, and ensure you pass by stores and resting places if you do not have a crew to support.
