Description

Marble Mountain is a great peak among many situated in the heart of the Sangre de Cristo range. The peak is easy to identify as it flanks the south side of South Colony Creek Valley and Humboldt Peak. The route is a standard out and back, through old growth forest, alpine tundra and finally some talus toward the summit.

Murray to Mountains Rail Trail: Wangaratta - Beechworth

Description

Situated in scenic North-East Victoria, this run follows the Murray to the Mountains rail trail from Wangaratta along the old railway line up into Beechworth. The rail trail is completely sealed for the whole way and includes one of the steepest gradient increases allowed for trains at the time from Everton up to Beechworth. Not a huge climb, but a very long gradual increase in elevation along what looks to be a trail that goes on forever.

Myrtle Peak (ID)

Description

A slightly obscure peak in the Selkirk range, but a wonderful summit at that. The first mile or so is overgrown and requires a touch of route finding, which then leads you to a lovely ridge that'll take you to the top.
