Description

The River Avon flows through the counties of Wiltshire and Hampshire. It begins as two separate bodies of water in the Vale of Pewsey. The two arms merge at Upavon, flowing southwards across Salisbury Plain through Durrington, Amesbury and Salisbury. To the south of Salisbury the river enters the Hampshire Basin, flowing along the western edge of the New Forest through Fordingbridge and Ringwood, meeting up with the River Stour at Christchurch, to flow into Christchurch Harbour.

Description

This route connects two named trails (Bison Gulch and Mount Healy Overlook) with a scramble over the competing dual summits of Mount Healy itself. Keep to the named trails as long as they exist, and use caution as the summit area includes loose rock and substantial exposure. Pick your direction.

If you prefer a non-trail long distance NH N-S here is the option.

Unforgettable views, amazing mountain roads and trails, small town community and big city lights. This one has it all!

For those craving an FKT that combines wilderness isolation with serious mileage and winding mountain roads, this route delivers in full. Beginning at the Canadian border, this near-200-mile journey cuts through dense northern forests, crosses countless rivers and streams, and skirts the edges of many lakes throughout the state.

his route may not seem that daunting.... Upon leaving the parking lot, you'll be plunged into a gnarly and technical drop. This is the first of many. Somewhere around halfway to Koomer, the route gets MUCH easier (assuming it hasn't rained). Tag the parking lot at the end of the trail and trot it back!

There are bathrooms along the course, but nowhere to get water. Please either have water placed, carry plenty, or have someone crewing you.
