Suffern-Bear Mountain - Ramapo-Dunderberg Ribbon (NY)
The Suffern-Bear Mountain and Ramapo-Dunderberg Ribbon covers the entirety of the Suffern-Bear Mountain and Ramapo-Dunderberg trails. These are connected using the Red (1777) trail and Jones Point Road. SBM and RD are the two trails that cross the entire length of the Harriman State Park and this route uses the obvious connection between the two. This is almost 50 miles in length and 12500 feet of elevation gain in total.
Note that you can close the loop by running along the Orange Tpk, but that's not part of the FKT.
Gebürg Trail (Germany)
Gebürg*Trail is the more alpine Variant of Wiesenttal-Trail, where Bavaria´s hardest half Marathon Trailrun Neideck1000 takes place. The track often follows narrow Trails aside of the well-known marked Hiking Trails (e.g. Frankenweg) -> a good sense of orientation and enduring concentration are advantageous!
Wherryman’s Way (United Kingdom)
The Wherryman’s Way is long distance riverside walk set within the Broads – Britain’s largest protected wetland. It is a 36 mile recreational route following the course of the River Yare between Norwich and Great Yarmouth. The route takes its name from the wherry – a large cargo-carrying barge whose elegant black sails were a once common sight on these waters. The Wherryman’s Way winds through open marshes, reedbeds, grazing meadows and riverside villages along the banks of the River Yare, such as Cantley, Reedham and Burney Arms, that have linking stations.

West Side Trail (ME)
The West Side Trail is a multi-use singletrack trail that connects neighborhoods, office parks, preserves, and public beaches. Much of the trail is under the cover of the tree canopy adjacent to the CMP power line corridor that the route follows. The route includes ravines, rocky bluffs, and vistas to Casco Bay and the Royal River estuary. There are a few steep, rocky sections, but for the most part it is a well-groomed, meandering trail that feels isolated even though it is cutting through neighborhoods.
