There are different ways  to do it, but the traverse consist of traveling the ridge between Chief Joseph Mtn and Matterhorn, and tagging Sacajawea as well. The route traverses over nine 9000’ peaks across this high divide.

Mark Hauter describes one way (see map):

Hurricane creek TH to Thorp creek, up Sacajawea peak over to Matterhorn then back across the Hurwal divide over Chief Joseph mountain and bushwhack back to Hurricane creek TH.

Finger Lakes Trail - Letchworth Branch (NY)

Submitted by Buzz Burrell on Thu, 04/30/2020 - 09:18am
Description

The Letchworth Branch is a roughly 25 mile branch trail that is part of the Finger Lakes Trail System. It runs from the town of Mount Morris on the North end, to Portageville on the southern end, where it meets the main branch of the Finger Lakes Trail. Most of the trail is within Letchworth State Park. It is largely singletrack, with some sections of unpaved road, doubletrack path, and a bit of paved road at the Portageville end. The trail is well established and has been in use for many years, and parts of it have been used in various local trail races.
