The OC&E Line State Trail is a conversion of the OC&E Railroad disused railway easement into a non-motorized path used for walking, cycling, jogging and horse riding. The now paved flat trails stretch through agricultural and forest areas appealing for recreational development. The OC&E linear park is used by over 130,000 visitors every year. For example, from Olene, an unpaved section of the trail passes ranch lands, rivers and forests.

Borkamarschen (Sweden)

Description

A "tour" submitted by Hugo Börjesson:

The route is located in Kittelfjäll in swedish lapland. It starts at Hotel Kittelfjäll, follows the summer route towards Saxnäs for a bit, then goes up to the top of Borkafjäll (1316m), down to the summer route at Rissjön and passes Blerikstugan and then up to to the of Marsfjället (1590m) and then back over the top 1545m, down to Blerikstugan and back. The route is 48km long with 2450m ascent.

Description

The route is located in Kittelfjäll in Swedish Lapland. Start at the flagpole in front of Hotel Kittelfjäll, run up to the top of Borkafjäll (1316m), and return the way you came. The route is 16km long with a 820m ascent.

Epping Forest Challenge Walk (UK)

Description

The Epping Forest Challenge Walk is the creation of prolific walker John Merrill. The walk provides a series of vantage points over Essex, Hertfordshire and London. The route which has historical associations with with Queen Boadicea and the Iceni is a walk through different landscapes including beech and oak forest, riverside and marshes.
