Billy Goat - C&O Loop (MD)

Description

A 15km loop linking all 3 segments of the Billy Goat Trail with the C&O Canal Towpath.  Great Falls, MD.

The Billy Goat Trail is a 4.7-mile (7.6 km) hiking trail that follows a path between the C&O Canal and the Potomac River within the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park near Great Falls in Montgomery County, Maryland. The trail has three sections: Section A, the northernmost, is 1.7 miles (2.7 km); Section B is 1.4 miles (2.3 km); and Section C, the southernmost, is 1.6 miles (2.6 km)
Billy Goat Trail was laid out by the YMCA Triangle Club in 1919.

A hiking trail of 52 km that showcases the steep paths and rocky ridges (“lee” in Luxembourgish) through the wooded valley of the Sure, with several beautiful sites to discover such as Gringlee in Bourscheid-Moulin, the Molberlee in Hoscheid or the atypical village of Dirbach. Divided into 3 days of walking, this extension connecting Ettelbruck with Kautenbach should please all walkers in search of heritage, nature, culture and of course landscapes.

Andrew Skurka was a National Geographic Adventurer of the Year, and created monster routes, such as the Great Western Loop and Alaska-Yukon Expedition. He now runs a guiding business (when not racing Marathons), with 29 trips this year alone. 

Alan Dixon is an engineer and adventurer who helped co-found Backpacking Light, and will be a guide on three Andrew Skurka Adventures this year.

The Cleveland Way, established in 1969, is both an interesting and a beautiful path. It stretches for over 100 miles from Helmsley, on the southern edge of the North York Moors National Park, to Filey on the east coast.

Wildcat Hollow Trail (OH)

Description

The Wildcat Hollow Trail is a 15.5-mile hiking/backpacking trail located just north of Burr Oak State Park. It is in the Wayne National Forest. The trail is mostly singletrack, with no vehicles allowed. Dogs are allowed on leash.

This trail consist of a 15-mile loop, with an option of a 5 mile loop for an easier day hike. The trail follows ridgetops and stream bottoms, with several elevation gains and losses. The trail alternates between hardwood and pine forests with some scenic overlooks. Start and finish at the trailhead.
