Description

The route starts in downtown Gatlinburg, TN at the Little Pigeon River and climbs approx. one vertical mile to the Cliff Tops above the Mt. LeConte lodge before returning back down. This route covers approx. 21 miles and more than 6,000' vertical gain on total. It is a beautiful out and back challenge with the first and final 3 miles on paced roads before entering mostly technical single track. Along the route, runners are treated to spectacular views of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park as well as a few waterfalls and creek crossings.

Description

The Nordsüdtrail (NST) spans the entire length of Germany, starting at the most northern point on the island of Sylt and ends at the most southern point, the "Haldenwanger Eck". It is roughly 3,700 km in length with 90,000 m of altitude gain and spans 10 federal states. Established in 2020, it has risen in popularity, although it is still considered a hidden gem. Many German top trails are a part of the NST, making it a profound chance to get to know most of Germany through once journey on the Nordsüdtrail.
