Description

Hot Springs National Park, known for its thermal spas, bathouses and natural springs, is also home to 26 miles of trails that historically were walking paths for people to enjoy while receiving thermal health treatments along Bathouse Row or the Army/Navy Hospital that once occupied the grounds from January 1887 to just after World War II, serving soldiers, sailors and marines. This 13.27 mile loop hits most of the scenic locations of Hot Springs National Park. The loop begins on Bathhouse Row at the National Park Adminstrative building at the corner of Central and Reserve.

Description

Route starts at Base Camp, Puente Roto, which is at an altitude of 4,400m. The head of the trail starts right there by the road and then you just follow it to the mountainside and aim for the rock ridge which connects to high camp. First section of the trail is not very steep, just running along the mountain, until you get to the ridge where it becomes steep and exposed on both sides, however no climbing is required. After the ridge you arrive at high camp, Nido de Cóndores (5,450m) and the glacier starts.

Description

Riverside State Park stretches along the Spokane River just across from the city. It is ever popular with all types of users for its dense web of trails and easy access. While a portion of these trails are named and signed, only one loops (nearly) the entire park. While not full of destination views, Trail 25 is a clear benchmark for any Inland Northwest trail runner--especially if you like your routes flat and fast.

Queens Perimeter (NY)

Description

The Queens Perimeter is a roughly 78.6 mile route (3x marathons) that includes the Rockaways.

The border does not align perfectly with runable roads so there is definitely room for creative interpretation when running this borough's perimeter. This version of the perimeter avoids trails and beaches, and it follows the border as closely as possible while staying within Queens. This is a great way to see many beautiful Queens neighborhoods where the subway doesn't go.
