The Alpamayo Circuit is a stunning, 118km trek north of Huaraz. It features part of the more well-known Santa Cruz trail, then does a connecting section and finishes with the remote Alpamayo trek. Starting in Cashapampa and finishing in Hualcayan is the most common route variation, although there is also the option to walk back to Cashapampa.
Whilst on this route you are most often above 4000m, and fully self reliant. For more information, see the following resources:
