Description

Camden Hills State Park is renowned for the panoramic view of Camden Harbor and Penobscot Bay from the top of Mt. Battie, which inspired Edna St. Vincent Millay's poem "Renascence."  The entire park includes widely-used trails and several peaks.  It is one of the most popular hiking destinations in Maine.  A trail map is available here:

The FKT route should start at the ranger station at the entrance to the state park off Route 1, and then cover all six peaks within the park (Battie, Megunticook, Bald Rock, Derry, Frohock, Cameron) and also touch the cross on Maiden Cliff, then return to the ranger station. There is discretion on what order and what trails should be used, but the paved road up Mt. Battie is not to be used.
