This is a point to point route over compact sand, dirt, stone.

Veluwezoom is a great and diverse national park rising north of the Rhein/Waal river valley in the Netherlands. It was largely created following the ice retreat after the latest ice age and varies from deep woods to open heath landscapes with gorges and valleys, pastures, book, birch and pine forest. It is vastly used recreational area with loads of walking/hiking paths, MTB and other cycling trails, several children friendly places with animals, cafes, and easy access. In the park horses, highlanders and sheep roam freely.

The Aruba Traverse is a 23.6 mile crossing of the Caribbean island from the southeastern to northwestern terminus. Route starts and finishes with a foot in the sea. 

Heat and humidity are challenging as is the unexpectedly tough terrain including sharp basalt scrambles, sand dune crossings, and cactus barbs (long socks and sleeves are recommended). Panoramic views of crashing waves, cactus-laden landscapes, and vibrant wildlife are ample rewards for the course's challenges.
