Description

The Crazy Mountains Loop is an incredible loop through the rugged Crazy Mountains of Montana. The route goes through Campfire Lake and Moose Lake Basin and climbs up to Sunlight Lake. There are two large passes on the loop, but the trail is well maintained with water available at quite a few places along the route.

More info on the route can be found here http://backpackingroutes.com/crazy-mountains-loop/

Episode 106: "Win At All Costs" - New book by Matt Hart on the Nike Oregon Project

Category
Person-Person

Matt is a longtime endurance athlete who wrote a startling new book, just published on October 6, on the Alberto Salazar doping scandal and the dominant (domineering?) Nike Oregon Project.  This corporate giant was on top of the running world, until Salazar was given a 4 year suspension last September 30, causing the NOP to shut down immediately after.

Description

This route is special because it is difficult despite being a short distance.

The unevenness is brutal from the beginning. More than 500 positive meters are covered in 1.3km.

This segment climbs directly out of the Huentitán ravine. This canyon is a protected natural area in the state of Jalisco. The landscape is always impressive and is a great challenge for any athlete.
