Langkawi Circumnavigation (Malaysia)

Submitted by Kolja on Sat, 07/18/2020 - 10:26pm
Description

This route is one full loop of the beautiful island of Langkawi. The start and finish are on Pantai Cenang, one of the famous beaches in Langkawi. The loop itself is on road, and is the widest possible route of the island. As Langkawi's weather is year round hot, with High / Low (°C) being around 32 / 25, this makes for a challenging ultra route.

As Langkawi is considered one of the most beautiful islands in Malaysia (and the world), this route makes for a beautiful and challenging run!

Description

The Duff Roblin Parkway Trail is a point-to-point trail connecting St. Norbert (a town just South of Winnipeg) to Lockport (a town North of Winnipeg). This route runs a little over 45km (as marked) exclusively along the Red River Floodway, and is very exposed and flat. The surface is crushed gravel with 3-5km of asphalt. The main significance of this trail is that it provides a safe trail for human-powered transportation between Winnipeg and Bird's Hill Park. This trail was completed in 2013, and is one of the longest, most distinct trails in the province.
