Hadley Peak (WA)

Description

The elevation for Hadley Peak is at 7415. The route to Hadley Peak is through The Skyline Divide trail which is a 6000-foot-high ridgeline extension of Mount Baker. The Skyline Divide trail is 4.5 miles long before there is a 3 mile section that is a mix of boot pack path that runs the ridgeline over some of the most beautiful and magnificent terrain. As you approach the summit, there is a lot of loose rock and scree below the peak which makes the summit approach very difficult. At the peak there are views of Mount Baker and Mount Shuksan which are incredible.

Description

This route seemed logical to me, the Cimarrona and Williams Creek trailheads are less than a mile apart on a Forest Service road 30 miles from Pagosa Springs.  Both trails go uphill to the CDT (Continental Divide Trail) with about 4 miles on the CDT between those points.  I started at the WC trailhead, then up Cimarrona, right turn on the CDT, right turn onto Williams Creek trail, and back to the start, 22.5 miles.  About 5K vert with 2 major passes.  All of the expected flora and fauna variation between 8K and 11K in elevation.  The aspens were golden but the meadows were baked brown, unli

Description

The Wiouwash State Trail is a mostly flat, gravel and dirt trail built on a former railroad bed and has been converted from "rails to trails". The trail is named after the four counties it runs through: Winnebago, Outagamie, Waupaca, and Shawano. The southern trail section covers nearly 23 miles from the city of Hortonville in the north to Oshkosh in the south. The trail passes through many farm fields, tall grass prairies, several wet lands/marshes, and offers scenic views of Lake Butte des Mortes and the Fox River, ending near the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh campus.
