White Pine Trail (MI)
The White Pine Linear State Park is a 92-mile multi-use trail that runs from Cadillac, MI to the northern edge of Grand Rapids. It is the longest rail-trail in Michigan. The trail passes through numerous small towns so water and supplies are readily available, even though there is no motorized travel allowed and roads are usually out of sight and sound. It is a long, serene, flat, and rare opportunity to tour the mid-section of the "Rail to Trail" state.
Three Pass Loop (AZ)
This classic route travels around Mt. Wilson, just a few minutes from downtown Sedona, Arizona. Due to its proximity to the training mecca of Flagstaff, many elite trail runners have run this route and the same FKT holders of the Grand Canyon’s R2R2R (Jim Walmsley and Taylor Nowlin) hold/held the fastest times. The route is special because it requires a bit of everything—undulating red rock single track, creek crossings, steep climbs and very steep descents, a fast, flat section of road, and a highly technical finish.
18.69 miles; 3,984' vertical gain.
