The Markgrafenweg begins in the barracks courtyard of Plassenburg Castle. The footpath is signposted several times from the main square and the town hall.

Der Trail auf die Kramerspitz (1.985 m) ist eine aussichtsreiche und anspruchsvolle Tour – ein echter Klassiker in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, der mit vielfältiger Landschaft und grandiosem Gipfelblick belohnt.
Gestartet wird am Kramerplateauweg, von dort führt der Weg über die St.-Martin-Hütte hinauf zur Kramerspitz. Der Abstieg erfolgt über die Stepbergalm und das Gelbe Gwänd zurück zum Ausgangspunkt.

Most of the thru-hike is above 9,000 feet elevation. Expect to do 2,000-3,000+ feet of elevation per day.
