Description

A tried and true Marquette classic, the "4 Peaks" route has been run for decades by runners, skiers, bikers, and hikers. It links up the four distinct peaks (Hogback - Top of the World - Bareback - Sugarloaf) closest to town in a clockwise fashion, on the shores of Lake Superior. The route has a good mix of rooty singletrack, rocky climbs and descents, and smooth dirt / pine needles. The route starts directly across the road from the main TH for Sugarloaf Mtn, by the guardrail. The route ends at the parking lot after descending the "difficult trail" off of Sugarloaf.
