Scotty Kummer posted:
"Between June 30, 2013 and July 7, 2013, Shan Riggs ran across the State of Illinois (Supported) from Brookport, IL to the Wisconsin Border at HWY 45. A total of 410 miles in 6 days, 18 hours, 26 minutes. Chuck Schultz also completed the route (unsupported) in 7 days, 5 hours and 28 minutes."
Likely he means "self supported" rather than "unsupported". Note that we do not know if these are FKTs - possibly some TransCon runners have gone faster?
The Wisconsin Explorer blog describes Lake Geneva Shore Path this way:
"The Lake Geneva Lake Shore Path is a 21 mile trail of clever, unique, and unforgettable hiking. It is a 2 foot wide single track footpath encircling Geneva Lake that meanders through the yards of historic and modern estates.
The Minnesota DNR describes the Arrowhead Trail:
"The 135 mile David Dill/Arrowhead State Trail extends from the intersection with the Taconite State Trail (near Tower) to three miles south of International Falls. The natural surface trail is used primarily for snowmobiling.
The Run Across Indiana route is an open course route. Because of the state's geography, you may choose any route that connects the eastern and western borders of the state. The shortest possible route will be in the range of 150 miles, but all things considered, a preferred route is likely to be a little longer. The route shown on the map is for illustration purposes only; it is not the route that Andy Bauermeister ran in 2014, and it is not a recommended route.
Morgan & Stoyan (did not give their full name) posted the route on our old website:
"Myself and another runner did a pretty spirited loop (self-supported) and were wondering if we were the first to record a time. If not, if we did anything of note. Here is our effort:
John Muir Blue Loop (counterclockwise)
July 5, 2014
2:17:54
11.5 miles
Support came in the form of having another runner with me. Otherwise, water and food carried in/out.

Scott Drum proposed this 82.5-mile route on the Michigan's Upper Penninsula. His route linked the UP's National Park Service entities of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore (PRNL) and Isle Royale National Park (IRNP) via the 42.4 mile North Country Trail (NCT) and 40 mi Greenstone Ridge Trail (GRT).
