Havana Seawall — Malecón out-and-back

Description

The Havana Seawall FKT is a 8.36 mile out-and-back along the Malecón, Cuba’s iconic coastal esplanade. The course begins and ends at the official marker at the mouth of Havana Harbor in Old Havana (adjacent to Castillo de Salvador, the restored 16th century fortress) and continues west past the Centra Habana and Vedado neighborhoods, reaching the turnaround at the mouth of the Almendares River.

Cuba Traverse (Caribbean Sea to Gulf of Mexico)

Description

Begin on Cuba’s southern coast, with a foot in the Caribbean Sea, and run 31 miles north to the Gulf of Mexico.

One direct route from the Caribbean to the Gulf of Mexico (via Gulf of Batabano to Straits of Florida) is to begin at Cajia Beach then head north via the towns of La Palma, Guira de Melena, San Antonio de los Banos, Cayo la Rosa, Bauta, Rosa Marina, onto Playa Baracoa on the Gulf of Mexico. The route begins and ends with a foot in the sea.
