Description

This route follows the Little Ouse river along the long distance footpath: the Little Ouse Path. It starts in the town of Brandon and ends in the town of Thetford travelling through Thetford forrest and forestry commission land. The route is very peaceful and full of wildlife. At the end of the route is close to Thetford castle mound, the remains of an Iron Age fort and Thetford priory, remains of 12 century monastery, both are well worth a visit.

Description

Just dikes and water on the youngest part of Holland. Flevopolder is the largest man-made island in the world constructed in the 1950ies and 60ies. It is the latest large addition of new land to the Netherlands and sits in the vast artificial lake crated by the Afsluitdijk. The history and details are covered in this clip. Along the circumference is a biking and hiking path of 145 km.
