One of the most beautiful Scramble peaks in Chamonix.

Relatively easy with one 3b chimney climb and a lot of snow even late season 

The trail starts in Hakone-Yumoto and circles the outer ring of mountains surrounding Lake Ashi is known among trail runners in the Kanto region as 'Gairin' and is considered a gateway to success for advanced runners.

This route crosses Washington Island in a way that hits many of the features of the island.  First, you have to take a ferry to the island.  The route starts at the ferry dock and then heads inland through a wooded area.  You then come across the more populated area of the island, although it is pretty sparsely populated.  There are plenty of little shops and cafes along the way.  One of the first features that you will hit is the church called the Stavkirke.  This is one of 8 stave churches in the US and a beautiful piece of architecture.
