Route: Bob Marshall Traverse (NY)

Location
New York, US
Distance
30 mi
Vertical Gain
14,000 ft
Description

Starting at Johns Brook Lodge and ending at the Mount Jo trail head across from the high peaks information center at the Adirondack Loj, this is a big traverse in the Adirondacks summiting 14 high peaks, first completed by Robert Marshall in 1932.  Marshall beat the previous best of climbing 11 ADK high peaks in a day:  http://www.thedogteam.com/50KM50States-Web_Pages/50KM50States/50KM50States-index-frame.html

Thus I have carried a little farther the fantastic pastime of record climbing, adding three to Malcolm's total of eleven.... In fact, it would fit perfectly in a class with flagpole sitting and marathon dancing as an entirely useless type of record, made only to be broken, were it not that I had such a thoroughly glorious time out of the entire day.

On Sunday, June 20, 2021, myself and friend Aaron completed the BMT, beginning at S Meadow and hiking to JBL to start.

Linked is my recount of the traverse. Numbers may be approximate or inaccurate, so be sure to verify everything if planning to use for reference.
