This route represents the high part of the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal.

It starts around Manang, the main village on the northern side of the Annapurna range at an elevation of around 3500m. It leads further up the valley through Gunsang, Yak Kharka, Churi Ledar, Phedi and finally the high Pass Thorung La at 5416m before descending towards Muktinath at around 3700m just south of the Mustang area.

Sugarloaf Trail is a classic of Ohiopyle State Park. It is the rockier, muddier, cousin of Baughman Trail, with a longer ascent to boot. Baughman Trail and Sugarloaf Trail begin at the same location, just across from the Middle Yough takeout on the Great Allegheny Passage rail trail in Ohiopyle, Pa.
