Description

An unofficial 100 mile trail across some of the best hills, moors, tors, outcrops, and gritstone edges in the High Peak area of the Peak District National Park.

Starting in the idyllic village of Low Bradfield and ending at the majestic Chatsworth House.

Description

The route takes in some dramatic clifftop scenery complete with arches, stacks and crumbling castles. It rounds St Abb's Head, a National Nature Reserve renowned for its birdlife, to reach the attractive fishing village of St Abbs. Several sandy beaches are reached en route to the town of Eyemouth, before the long final stage leads on along the cliffs to cross the Border.

Howgills 2000 (United Kingdom)

Description

An open challenge covering the 2000ft tops in the Howgills with over 4500ft of ascent and a time limit of 9 hours. Navigational skills required for this tough challenge.

From Longdale the fells and hills tackled, in order, are Middleton, Simon's Seat, Bleagill Head, Stowgill Brow, Breaks Head, Fell Head, Bush Howe, White Fell Head, The Calf, Bram Rigg Top, Calders, Little Dummacks, Great Dummacks, Cautley Crag, Cautley Spout Head, Bowderdale Head, Yarlside. Kensgriff, Randygill Top, West Fell and Langdale Knott.

Eye of Heaven Arch (UT)

Description

Start up Short Creek about 2 miles NE of Hildale, UT.  The first 2 ½ miles are on a ATV trail that is also used by hikers and horses. You are initially on Short Creek and then a left at the base of The Beehive in to Squirrel Creek. The ATV trail continues for a portion and then the trail narrows to foot and horse traffic only.  When you reach the top of the ridge , T intersection, you hit an ATV trail again. Turn left (west) and follow the ATV trail up across the slickrock to the saddle. Turn left (South) and follow the ATV Trail to the Arch.  Return the same way.
