The Angleworm Lake Trail is a lollipop loop in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. It's one of the most popular trails in the Boundary Waters, being only 15 miles north of Ely. The trail consists of a loop around the long and narrow Angleworm Lake, with a spur trail out to the trailhead on the Echo Trail (now a gravel road). The loop is about 13.1 miles long with 1900 feet of gain. The trail is hilly and generally well maintained. It goes through stands of red and white pines and dense deciduous forests that have gorgeous color in September and early October.
