Eventful connection path between Saar-Hunsrück-Steig and Soonwaldsteig

If you want to connect the two outstanding premium trails of the Hunsrück, the Soonwaldsteig and the Saar-Hunsrück-Steig, on a beautiful hike, you should take the Schinderhannespfad.
It is named after the robber captain Schinderhannes, who was up to mischief in the region in the 18th century.
Special sights along the route are the castle in Kastellaun, the Schinderhannesturm in Simmern or the castle in Gemünden.

Description

The Westweg 100 Miles Edition begins at Mummelsee. The further route runs along the Black Forest High Road to the Alexanderschanze and then through forests into the Kinzig Valley to Hausach. After a steep ascent, the Westweg touches the European watershed between the Rhine and the Danube from the Martinskapelle (Bregquelle) to the Kalten Herberge. In Titisee the Westweg, The route runs over the Feldberg summit and to the finish line at the beautiful Belchen Mountain.
