South Rim - Emory Peak Loop (TX)
The South Rim Trail in Big Bend National Park is possibly its most iconic trail. This trail is typically done as a day hike or as a 2-3 day backpacking trip. The trail starts at the Chisos Basin parking lot trailhead and works its way up to the south rim. The route described here follows the South Rim and the highest trails in the park, including an out & back segment to summit Emory Peak.
Blue Mountain Trail (NJ)
The Blue Mountain Trail is a 16.8 mile loop at Stokes State Forest in Branchville, New Jersey. Stokes has some beautiful trails and it's rarely crowded! The Blue Mountain loop includes a little bit of everything: technical single-tracks, a couple of nice climbs, a beautiful stretch through a pine forest along a river, and even a clean drinking water spigot around mile 10. Drive to the Park Office lot and park there (do not drive through the gate as this is the closest parking location). To begin the loop, walk down the hill and the trailhead will be on your right.
Ouachita - Boardstand - Old Military Road Trails Loop (OK)
This 22.1 mile loop combines the first section of the Ouachita Trail with two prominent trails in Holson Valley, the Boardstand and Old Military Road Trails. It is probably the best hike in Oklahoma providing a sampling of the OT without the need for a shuttle.
