Description

Route starts and ends at the parking area by the dam at Freeman Reservoir. Can be run clockwise or counterclockwise. Uses trails 1183, 1185, and 1144. Beautiful route that takes you to both the east and west summits of Black Mountain. There is water access at multiple creek crossings.

A relatively accessible route in Routt National Forest, 90% of the trail is runnable without the need for route finding. It's an incredibly beautiful route that highlights views of Bears Ears, Hahns Peak, and the Zirkel Wilderness to the west.
