Description

Griffith Park is the crown jewel of Los Angeles city-park trailrunning and deserved an FKT route that shows all it has to offer.

This route traverses the entire park and summits the 11 primary peaks of the park. Along the way, you have amazing views of the entire city while passing Los Angeles icons like the Hollywood Sign and the Griffith Observatory.

Description

The Wildnerness Figure 8 FKT is comprised of two Side Trails: Ragged Rapids Loop Trail & High Falls Loop Trail. Blue blazes create a route with little evidence of a trail. In treeless areas, the blazes are painted on rock outcrops or are indicated by rock cairns. The terrain in the Wilderness is rugged and in places very strenuous. It should be attempted only by experienced hikers/runners.

Three Kings (ID)

Description

The Three Kings Challenge was established long ago and serves as a test piece in the lore of the XC ski racing community in Sun Valley. A simple linkup of 3 prominent peaks seen mightily and visibly from town - Glassford (11,602'), Ryan (11,714'), and Kent (11,664') in the Boulder Mountain range. Don't let the simplicity of this objective fool you though, it is a true challenge, testing mountain athletes' routefinding skills, technical ability over loose and exposed terrain, and of course: fitness.
