Mad River 50k
A multi faceted adventure starting from the end of the Entiat River road, climbing to the top of a ridge, and following the Mad River drainage as far as a trail will take you. This route takes you through multiple ecosystems, through the forest, along rivers, across rivers, and through burn scarred high desert with enticing views along the way.
Much of this trail is open to dirt bikes which ensures the trail remains maintenance but only those on foot can compete the entire route due to multiple bridges out and washouts. Some on route improvisation may be necessary.

Altels Skyrun
The FKT starts at the Kandersteg trainstation direction Sunnbühel, Spittelmatte. Until there it was a easy 10k with +900m.
Then you leave the trail direction the face of Altels and the very step climb starts. After +1000m more the scrambling part starts. The final ridge is exposed and very steep (T5+ (II) the downhill is first tricky and then just like surfing. .
From Spitttelmattesee to the top of Altels there is no path and exposed ridges!
You are free to find the fastest way from Kandersteg to Altels and back! No need to stay on the GPX track.
