Description

The Véloroute des Bleuets is a cycling path that loops around the Lac St-Jean, passing through 16 villages and small cities. The path is mostly asphalt, sometimes on the shoulder of the road, sometimes going through the woods, sometimes alongside the road with a median strip. There's a 20km going through the provincial park SEPAQ Pointe-Taillon, a flat non-technical dirt road. This is the only section non-accessible by vehicule, if you're going supported. On the Véloroute des Bleuets website, there's options for ferries that make the route shorter.

Description

The route begins where the AT meets Shook Branch Road at Boots Off Hostel in Hampton, TN and goes to the iconic arch in the Damascus, VA city park. 2023 data book has the start and end points as NOBO mile markers 428.8-470.4. The route can be attempted NOBO or SOBO. Best I am aware, this has been a challenge to hikers from the staff at Boots Off Hostel, going back to at least 2019 if not further back. This is 40+ miles of classic Appalachian Trail single-track.

The Staffordshire Way is a 92mile point to point route, from the folly known as Mow Cop Castle the route initially hugs the Cheshire / Staffordshire border along Congleton Edge to The Cloud, in common with the Gritstone Trail. It continues along the towpath of the Caldon Canal, through the Churnet Valley and follows the River Dove to Uttoxeter. The Trent and Mersey Canal is then followed to Shugborough Hall with Cannock Chase and Highgate Common visited before reaching the sandstone Kinver Edge where it meets the North Worcestershire Path.
