The Coast to Coast Trail is a 24.7 mile trail that goes from the eastern end of Nantucket island, starting at the end of Hoicks Hollow Rd., to the western end of the island, finishing at the end of North Cambridge St.. The trail is comprised of many different surfaces including paved roads, dirt roads, paved bike paths, double track, and single track trails.

Anyone who looks at a satellite map of the mountains north of Santa Fe quickly notices a nearly perfect loop of brownish gray area. This is one of the largest areas in New Mexico of above treeline terrain. It contains nine of the 29 New Mexico 12,000 footers. They are all inside the northern half of the Pecos Wilderness.
