The wild beauty and remote magnificence of Guy Fawkes National Park, is a reputation well earnt. Having heard of its legendary isolation and challenging navigation from the outdoors community, I decided to experience it for myself in 2023 and then again in 2026. It did not fail to satisfy on all fronts, after 50km of its wooded native grasslands flanking more than 40 wide crystal clear river crossings, the incredible route then propels you up a steep inlcine into the high country surrounding the quaint mountain village of Ebor.

Die wunderschöne Runde führt über Waldwege, schmale Pfade, teils wurzelige Singletrails entlang an einem der schönsten in der Sonne schimmernden Seen in der Umgebung, das Gelände ist eher wellig, jedoch für Mecklenburg Vorpommern schon richtig bergig. Die Runde geht entgegen des Uhrzeigersinns und startet am südlichen Punkt des Sees vom Parkplatz. Auf der Westseite geht es für ein Paar km weg vom Uferweg an einen Feldrand, aber auch nur kurz. Dann geht es zwischen Hühnern und Ziegen wieder ans Wasser. 

Alles in allem eine wunderschöne Strecke.

Most technical route to Hallasan summit. Starts at Gwaneumsa Trailhead, 8.7km climb to Baengnokdam crater lake with 1480m gain. Final 2.7km from Samgakbong Shelter is non-runnable power hike on volcanic stone steps. Requires entry permit + passport check. Summit turnaround mandatory. Return same route.

A classic and majestic trekking route in the Cordillera Blanca (White Range) of the Andes in the region of Ancash, Peru. It is a well established route typically backpacked over 3 or 4 days. It is a one way route, that goes through glacial valleys, along vibrant lagunas, and climbs high into mountain passes reaching up above 15,500 feet in elevation.
