The 296km Ottawa Valley Recreational Trail is a multi-use corridor stretching from near Smiths Falls to just shy of Mattawa, passing through Lanark County, Renfrew County and Papineau-Cameron Township. This is the repurposed former Canadian Pacific Railway line. The current open section stretches from Petawawa to Arnprior (also known as the Algonquin Trail) and then heads south towards Smith Falls. The trail passes through many communities along the way, which offer parking, restaurants and other tourist landmarks along the way.
