The route begins at the edge of a large city in the center of the high plateau region reaching heights of +2400 meters (+1490 miles) above sea level inside the first 50 kilometers. The scenery begins to change into the rain forest region passing over rivers and along side waterfalls of the Huasteca Potosina until dropping to just 100 meters above sea level the last costal stretch to reach the coast of Miramar. 415 kilmeters , (257 miles)

The route traverses Bukhansan National Park from Uijeongbu in the north to Jinheung-ro in the south via Ui-dong, following the most logical and scenic line across the range. It connects the park's principal ridgelines, peaks, and trail systems in a continuous north-to-south crossing.

The route traverses Rebun Island from its northernmost accessible point to its southern end, following the most logical and aesthetic line while minimizing road sections wherever possible.

Starting near Cape Sukoton in the north, the route links together Rebun's most scenic trails, coastal paths, and ridgeline sections before continuing south through the island's central mountainous area and eventually reaching Shiretoko on the southern coast . The objective was to complete a true north-to-south crossing of the island while staying on foot and maximizing trail quality.
