On March 20, 2022, Mexico’s president, Andrés Lopez Obrador, announced the project, “El Camino de Benito Juárez”. The path, made in mind for hikers, runners, and cyclists, follows the path that Benito Juárez, (Mexico’s most beloved president) took from his Zapotec hometown of San Pablo Guelatao, to the city of Oaxaca when he was just 12 years old. The year was 1818 and Benito Juárez was looking for opportunities to further his education.
This route climbs to the summit of the three highest peaks in the front range of the Santa Catalina Mountains - originally known to the Tohono O’odham Nation as Babad Do’ag - which is the iconic skyline one sees when looking north from Tucson. The route is best climbed west to east, ticking the easiest peak first, Mt. Kimball (7258 ft), before moving on to Window Peak (7456 ft) and finishing atop Cathedral Rock (7952 ft). While Kimball’s summit has a trail all the way to the top, Window requires a couple hundred meters of off trail navigating and an unexposed class 3 scramble.
The Minato Mirai area surrounding the city’s main bay is one of the most scenic and popular running options in Yokohama. Here, the modern waterfront is well-suited to pedestrians, with green spaces, public art, and a wide pedestrian promenade spanning the shoreline. For quick runs and fartleks, runners can do laps in Yamashita Park (about 1.8 km around) or Harbor View Park (about 1.4 km around). However, a longer tour of the waterfront is definitely worthwhile.
The Willance's Leap Loop route offers a blend of historical landmarks, natural landscapes, and the challenge of a varied terrain, making for an exciting and fulfilling running experience.
These trails in Godinne were created in 2021 on the initiative of 3 trail runners, all members of the RCB.
Their motivation was to offer signposted routes giving access to the superb Bocq valley, which can be reached easily by transport: easy access by train via a frequent and direct line from Brussels, TEC bus stop, easy access by car via the E411. These trails allow you to discover a lesser-known area, the other side of the Meuse, a bit like other existing trail stations in other regions. (Extratrail, Trail en Famenne,...)
