The full length of Mainland Greece from north to south (or vice versa). The route starts from Ormenio Train Station near the northern border with Bulgaria and finishes at Cape Tainaron Lighthouse on the Mediterranean coast.

The route passes through the cities of Thessaloniki, Katerini, Larissa, Patras and Pyrgos. It passes over the Pindus Mountains, skirts the edge of the Taygetus Mountains, and crosses the 3km Rio-Antirrio Bridge on the way to the Peloponnese peninsula.

The Rheinsteig is a well known hiking trail on the east bank of the Rhine River in Germany. Its 320 kilometres (200 mi) route stretches from Bonn to Wiesbaden.
