Der Ostweg führt aus der Goldstadt Pforzheim über die Höhen östlich und westlich des Nagoldtals. Täler, Höhen und offene Landschaft wechseln sich ab und bringen den Wanderer über Pfalzgrafenweiler, Freudenstadt vorbei am Friedrichsturm und Vogteiturm nach Alpirsbach im Kinzigtal.

From 1880 well into the 20th century, Bangor and Portland Railway steam locomotives plied this corridor, serving nearby quarries. Conrail bought the line in 1976, only to close it five years later. Plainfield township then bought the corridor and built the trail.

This is a trail that goes from Coast to Coast here in Florida 

The Camino Via Francigena is one of Europe’s most historical known medieval pilgrimage routes, stretching from Canterbury, England to Rome, Italy, Vatican City  dating back over 1000 years.
