Description

This route was inspired by and pays homage to the Great Western Loop! The Great Western Loop is the largest trail loop in the U.S.A. Well now it's neighbor to the north has a trail loop of its own. The Great Ontario Loop! At 402 miles with 34000 feet of elevation gain, it pales in comparison to the 6900 mile Great Western Loop. Nonetheless, it is still quite the challenge and is now Canada's largest trail loop!

The Highland High Way

Description

The Highland High Way is a high level alternative of the West Highland Way and runs from Drymen (just north of Glasgow, in Scotland) to Fort William over the hills. It follows paths where possible but also includes a lot of rough ground.

The route taken was based on a book written in 1996 and adapted to current options (the main difference being no loch crossing at a point where ferries no longer run).
