Description

Glacier National Park in Montana is home to superlatives. It is one of North America's most iconic National Parks and supports a stunning variety of ecosystems and animals. It holds immense geologic and cultural history, and is one of the most ecologically intact areas remaining in the temperate regions of the world. It gets flooded with visitors every year, especially during the summer months, but all of this wildness combines to keep the vast majority of visitors either in their cars or on the more-accessible trails.

The route begins from Hart’s Pass trailhead, heading north on the PCT. The first few miles are very cruisy with little elevation gain and amazing views. Roughly 4.5 miles in you’ll hit Buffalo Pass, followed by Windy Pass a mile later. Next it’s Foggy Pass and then Jim Pass, now 7-ish miles from the trailhead.
