A circa 80km waymarked pilot section of the Llwybr Coedwig Cymru Trail connecting you to some of the National Forest sites in South Wales.

You will see the variety of woodlands and forests, from mixed broadleaf through to productive forests.

This route has been years in the making and become a government officially funded trail, connecting all the forests of South Wales together. The forests connect Brecon (Historic Mountains of South/Mid Wales) to the Valleys and Hills of South Wales all the way to the sea.

The pleasure gardens at the edge of the city were financed by wealthy citizens of Bruges in the 19th century. They employed people to design and build landscaped gardens around their castles and planted trees that are still there till this day. The Castle route between Bruges and Torhout takes you through these grounds that were inaccessible to the public for a long time, such as Merkemveld and the woods in Tillegem. Nature reserve Vloethemveld has a completely different history and housed a British POW camp after WWII.

Originally a cycling route, but also great for running.

The eastern region of Bruges has a wealth of beautiful nature reserves. Starting at Assebroekse Meersen, an area full of birdlife, you run in the direction of the World Heritage City. A number of windmills on the Vesten remind you of the days when millers provided flour to the entire city. Via the Dampoort you run towards the countryside along the Maleveld and go through the wooded area of Ryckevelde in Sijsele. This route is mostly flat apart from the Oedelemberg hill. Once past the centre of Beernem, you pass the Ghent-Bruges canal where donkeys graze in Gevaerts-Noord nature reserve.

J'ai répertorié tous les sommets à plus de 2000m dans les Bauges et j'en compte 18 (au lieu des 14 de Aurélien car parcours légèrement différent) : 

- Dent de Cons – 2062 m 

- La Petite Sambuy – 2107 m (Antécime de la Sambuy)

- Pointe de la Sambuy – 2198 m
