This route follows hiking trails for the most part as you make a lollipop through Cathedral Pass. It starts along the Chewuch River and is relatively flat until you begin climbing towards Cathedral Pass. When I did this in 2023 some of the original Cathedral Pass trail was closed due to fires having damaged the area, but you can follow a different trail than what is on WTA to complete the lollipop. This route has it all, stunning mountain views, alpine lakes that will take your breath away, and the solidarity of a great backcountry adventure run.

Le GR406, également nommé la Route de Napoléon, est un itinéraire historique et pittoresque à travers les paysages du sud-est de la France. Long de 166 kilomètres avec un dénivelé positif de 4347m et négatif de 4079 mètres, il traverse les Alpes-de-Haute-Provence et les Préalpes de Grasse, suivant le tracé emprunté par Napoléon lors de son retour de l’île d’Elbe en 1815.
