The short variant runs around the Sassolungo and does not include the Sassopiatto massif. Being a complete loop, you can theoretically start from any point along the path. Here we document the classic tour, which starts from Passo Sella.

The tour begins by following trail nr. 525 towards the Forcella del Sassolungo, located at an altitude of 2,685m/8,612 ft. This first section is very beautiful, but also steep and challenging. If you want to take it easy, you can take the cableway to the top!

Start running from Balestrand, and follow Esefjorden to the bottom of the first mountain Tjuatoten.

Run up and down Tjuatoten (1096m).

Follow the fjord back in to the bottom of Keipen.

Run up and down Keipen (1417m).

Follow the fjord to the bottom of Vindreken.

Run up and down Vindreken (1259m).

Follow the fjord back to Balestrand, and run up and down Raudmelen (972m).

End up where you started in Balestrand. 

The goal of this route is to tag all major summits in the southern part of the ZEC des Martres. Super technical sector of the wonderful Charlevoix region. The summit list is as follow :

Rocky Peak park and the surrounding area has some of the best Southern California trails. Filming of Mandalorian season 2 episode 6 was done along the hummingbird trail. Loop can be done in either direction.
