Establishing the Transcaucasian Trail is an ongoing project as described on the website https://transcaucasiantrail.org. Currently there are multiple route fragments. This route is the Georgian part in the Upper Svaneti area. It takes hikers from Ushguli to Mestia and then Kvemo Marghi. The section between Ushguli and Mestia is popular and well travelled while the section west of Mestia sees less traffic. Most hikers hike west to east but both directions are possible.

L'itinerario è un noto trekking che unisce 6 rifugi all'interno del Parco delle Alpi Marittime.

Percorre sentieri in quota, vecchie strade militari in pietra, affianca laghi alpini e passando per colli anche a quote di quasi 3000 metri unisce valloni paralleli, con partenza da Sant'Anna di Valdieri e termina a San Giacomo di Entraque.

È un itinerario in linea, chiaramente si può percorrere in entrambe i sensi.
