Description

Jbel Lkest is the imposing mountain range (2,359 meters above sea level) north of Tafraoute which closes the Ammeln Valley.  For the ascent to the summit of Jbel Lkest, start from the village of Tagdicht north of Tafraoute.

On October 18, Drew ran back and forth across the Grand Canyon 4 times (R2R2R2R2R).  It was his third try, so he learned some things!  Which he shares with you ...

"They start turning off the water when the weather gets cold. So there's a narrow window when most people try this. I did the first R2R2R at night, so the warm sun made starting the second lap easier." 

This route was 83 miles, with 22,000' of vert.  And unlike running in the mountains, to finish it off, you have to run almost 5,000' back UP!

Adrar Mqorn (Morocco)

Description

Located some 12 km in the hinterland of Tafraout, to the southwest of it on the road to Aït Mansour, the Adrar Mqorn rises in imposing, tough relief that pushes hikers to the end of their journey.  breath.  Culminating at 2258m, this massif is accessible from the small Berber village of Ayeghed, nestled at the foot of the mountain, and which offers one of the access points for its ascent.  From these heights, the Adrar Mqorn offers striking panoramas over the regions of Tafraout and Aït Mansour, as well as the other outstanding peaks of the Western Anti-Atlas.
