Submitted by Alan Risk on Tue, 11/24/2020 - 07:08am
Description

The GR131 is part of a long distance trail series spanning all seven of the Canary Islands and is part of the pan-European E7 walking route. The route is well signposted and can be tackled in either direction with the traditional route running East to West. While the route doesn't take you up Teide, it won't fail to dazzle as you climb to approx. 2500 metres and take in the spectacular national park. Always pack plenty of food/water but this route will take you through/close to La Esperanza, Aguamansa, El Portillo de Teide, Vilaflor, Ifonche and Arona.

Description

The NS MudSweatTrails GrAs Trail runs from Groningen to Assen. A substantial trail that leads through varied landscapes. In summer you will find tall grass, ferns and blackberry bushes on your path. In winter you walk on wet tuber fields and swampy paths. The route takes you over heaths, through forests, past hedgerows and fens and regularly offers beautiful views of the farmlands. The route can be shortened by 8 km by starting at Haren station. At 25 kilometers you can take the bus from Zuidlaren to Assen or Groningen.
