Tribal Closures (update July 2022):

When circumnavigating Mt. Adams it is critical to do thorough research on the Yakama Nation Website to check for land closures and to obtain their permit and/or permission before attempting this route.  If the land is closed no one should be on it; we have Flagged prior efforts who were on the tribal land during a time of closure. The tribal land may be closed even when the rest of Mt Adams Wilderness is open.

This is a route along the Olympic Coast that seems logical but has not seen much FKT activity.  Here are some posts from our old website (none of these people identified themselves):

Hello All,

I'm new to this board and poked around a little bit but couldn't find any info on any Olympic Coast runs in WA state.  I pulled off  a 50+ miles in 18 hours along the Olympic Coast in June 2014. From Shi-Shi to Oil City Road, involves beach running, beach head overlands, and timing of the tides... I have GPS documentation and online pre-run announcement.

Doug McKeever posted: This is a classic loop trail in the western portion of the Pasayten Wilderness in Washington. It is 43 miles and has 7300 feet of gain (same loss). Much of the loop is in meadows with abundant flowers, wide views....and mosquitoes! On July 16, 1988, Richard West and I ran the loop in 9:01. We started and finished at the East Bank trailhead on Highway 20 and ran counterclockwise, which is preferable IMO to clockwise. I did the loop again with Richard West, Craig Moore, and Sean Nordquist on August 11 1990 but didn't record our time.
