FKT route:
Start at the steps of the church of Breuil-Cervinia (chiesa Maria Regina Vallis Augustana - note, this is the same start point as the one for the Matterhorn Italian route). Finish at the top of Breithorn for the ascent only variant, and back at the church steps for the round trip.
Shishapangma,[7][8] also called Gosainthān, is the 14th highest mountain in the world at 8,027 metres (26,335 ft) above sea level.
Editor's Note, 2025-06-01 - As the rope is often only fixed to the false summit at 5860m, this page will now refer to runs up to that point. It is believe that the FKTs set by Andrews and Steck on the men's side went to the true summit at 6030m.
