Cross-Britain Way
The path was created by Tim Brunton, to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. The idea was to create a walking trail across the whole of the country that would include less well-known areas of the English countryside, combine both England and Wales, and would embrace Britain's cultural and industrial heritage as well as the beauty of its scenery, and the range of its changing landscapes.

Mont Saint Hubert et Cap Blanc-Nez (France)
This route features very nice views, different terrains and up-/downhills.
Best place to start (with plenty of parking) is either Sangatte (to the north) or Escalles (to the south)
Whilst Cap Blanc-Nez, or cape white nose, is called a cape it does not in fact stick out into the water. Instead it is a large white cliff topped by an obelisk. The cliffs reach 134 meters in height and fall dramatically to the sea below.
The route is featured on very many different hiking sites, e.g.:

The Way of Light
Starting at Durham Cathedral you head up the valley, passing places such as Ushaw college before climbing up to Castleside. Dropping down from the viaduct you head through the woods to Muggleswick and then start the start onto the moors above Edmundbuyers. Turing north, there is another climb up to Slayey Forest and then dropping down to follow the river towards Newbiggin. Another climb up to the the ridge south of Hexham which has beautiful views of the Abbey and you think you can glimpse the finish.
